On this page
Our goal. We want everyone to be able to use the Sound Renew website and apps, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do on this website
- Semantic HTML with clear headings, landmarks and a "Skip to main content" link.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator. Menus and the cookie dialog can be operated and closed with the keyboard.
- Text and controls meet AA color-contrast ratios, and text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
- Every informative image has a text alternative, and tables have headers.
- The site respects the "reduce motion" setting, and no content depends on animation, sound or color alone.
- The site loads no third-party fonts, and works without JavaScript for reading content.
- The page layout adapts from phone to desktop, and long documents can be printed.
The apps
- The apps are available in 11 languages, and the Android app supports right-to-left layouts such as Arabic.
- The in-app Guide has larger text and smaller text controls.
- Photos show where to place the speaker and the headphone bud, and can be enlarged. Each step also states its instruction in text.
- The apps use the standard controls of iOS and Android, so system accessibility features such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, system text size and display settings apply.
Known limitations
- Many instructions are shown with photographs, including colored marks on ear photos. We describe the placement in text on each step, but some photographic detail is visual.
- Some parts of the apps and this site were written before we adopted WCAG 2.2, and we are improving them over time.
- The App Store, Google Play and any other third-party sites we link to are not under our control.
How we check
We check pages with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom and automated markup checks, and we review color contrast when we add or change them. We have not yet had the site independently audited, and we do not claim every page is perfect; if you find a problem, please tell us.
Tell us about a barrier
If you cannot use something, or need information in another format, email energetichealthandresearch@gmail.com or write to Energetic Health and Research, 600 Cutoff Rd #15, Port Aransas, TX 78373. Please tell us the page or screen, what went wrong, and the assistive technology you use. We aim to respond promptly and to fix confirmed barriers as soon as we reasonably can.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the accessibility or equality body that covers your country.
