A typical treatment

Sore area first, then the ear.

Sound Renew uses sonotherapy applied through your headphone bud to specific ear acupuncture points to help painful areas and many health conditions. You can also place a larger speaker directly on the body part.

  1. Treat the painful area. Place a phone speaker or larger speaker on the sore area for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Treat the matching ear point. Lower the volume to a comfortable level and place a headphone bud on the corresponding ear point for 4 to 6 minutes: the right ear for right-side pain, the left ear for left-side pain.
  3. Relax the muscles. Treat the topside of the point you just treated for 4 to 6 minutes.

Advanced users can monitor their own temporal pulse to find the active, painful point first. The directions in the app describe this pulse-guided method for horses and dogs.
