What you need
Wired or wireless headphones, a headphone bud, or a small speaker such as a can speaker, and a quiet few minutes. Use the headphones or speaker on the body, and the single bud on the ear.
Choose who you are treating
When you open Sound Renew, choose Human, Dog or Horse. Each mode has its own treatments and its own photos. The Human mode lists 33 treatments, and the free ones are marked so you can start without a plan.
Pick a treatment
Treatments are grouped by body area, for example Head and face, Neck, arms and hands, Back and hips, and Legs and feet. In Human mode you can also search by name. Tap a treatment to open its first step.
Follow the steps
- Treat the painful area. Place headphones or a can speaker on the sore area, press Start, and treat until the timer ends. Tap the photo to see it larger.
- Treat the ear point. Place the headphone bud on the blue mark, on the same side as the pain. Tap See how to see the bud in place on a real ear.
- Treat the back of the ear. Find the point directly behind the red mark. How to find it.
For conditions without pain, such as anxiety, treat both ears.
Settings worth knowing
- Continuous treatment
- Turn this on and a step plays until you press Stop, instead of ending when its timer does.
- Open last mode at launch
- When off, the app starts on the mode picker. When on, it opens the mode you used last.
- Language
- Choose from 11 languages. On Android 13 and later you can also set the language per app in the system settings.
- Walkthrough
- Replay the short introduction at any time.
Keep the volume comfortable
Keep the volume comfortable, never painfully loud, especially with a bud at the ear. If you cannot hear the treatment sound at all, check that the device volume is turned up. More in troubleshooting.
Always seek medical attention first. Use Sound Renew only in addition to medical treatment.
